Player Bio:

Originally from Ontario, I moved to Vancouver in 2000 to do my PhD in nutrition at UBC. In addition to earning my PhD, I also gained a new home, as I fell in love with the west coast and haven’t looked back! I currently work as an Evaluation Specialist in Public Health, as well as teaching some college and university courses. I’m an avid runner, blogger (http://www.nottobetrustedwithknives.com/) and, of course, a hockey player.

I first heard about the Longest Game 4 CF from the guys at the pro shop at Burnaby 8 Rinks. They said they needed volunteers and players and when I got home I started reading about the event and about Eva.

I started playing hockey at the age of 26 – an age that Eva didn’t live to see herself. I’m so lucky to be healthy, to be able to play this game that I love, and I feel like the least I can do is take part in this amazing fundraiser for such an important cause. I will admit that I’m a bit nervous – playing hockey for 10 days straight is a huge undertaking – but I know that other people have faced much bigger challenges than this.

I hope you’ll considering donating to this cause!
