Player Bio:
I am jumping into the Longest Game 4 Cystic Fibrosis with both skates on!!!
I learned how to skate in the outdoor rinks of Ontario with my Dad walking along side me (because he couldn’t skate). Shortly after that I joined ringette resulting in our family weekends being spent in arenas across Ontario and Quebec. My last year of high school I saw a notice for women’s ice hockey, upon joining I was hooked! After university I embarked on a road trip that led me to British Columbia, and I have lived here since. Here, I met a wonderful group of women who share my enthusiasm for the sport; these women have since become lifelong friends.
The passion that Valerie and the other committee members have for the Cystic Fibrosis cause is so contagious that I wanted to be a part of this event. My heart goes out to each family member or friend that Cystic Fibrosis touches. The idea of playing hockey for ten days seems outrageous, but it pales in comparison to the daily battle of living with CF. The Longest Game 4CF is a great way to bring awareness and donations to Cystic Fibrosis.
With your support we can help provide the necessary funds researchers need to get one step closer to finding a cure and helping the millions of families affected by this disease.
