Support : To keep from weakening or failing; strengthen. My name is Francesca, however, when I play sports I’m known as Frankie. I am actually a ringette player; I have played ringette for 18 years, coached for 7 years and was a referee for 3 years. When I coached ringette SUPPORT is what was extremely important to me to teach every player. Without it you will fail as individuals. With it you will succeed as a TEAM. The Longest Game 4 C F combines everyone’s love of hockey with their love of helping others in need. Hockey has also kept me active and having fun. I play co-ed, women’s and summer hockey teams on and off for about 6 years now. I love every minute of it and any chance I get to be on the ice I am game for! Box Lacrosse is another sport I am passionate about; 8 years. Aside from organized sports I just love to stay active going to the gym, rollerblading, playing baseball or going for walks with Axel (my lab/border collie). Motorcycles and dirt bikes are a hobby I also enjoy. Because of Ringette I got to play with Annie Markvoort. (Eva’s sister) It was through Annie I found out about Cystic Fibrosis and she asked me if I wanted to help in the Longest Game 4 C F. I knew that being a player would take its toll mental and physically, but absolutely nothing compared to what people with Cystic Fibrosis go through day in and day out. Eva’s story motivated me to get involved with Cystic Fibrosis, getting the word out and helping to raise money to find a cure! My opportunity to make sure everyone gets a chance to breathe! I’ve always strongly believed in what sports and teamwork could do for people.
