Volunteer Bio:

Being involved as a volunteer for this event, the Longest Game 4CF, and cause, Cystic Fibrosis, is easy! I hope that you will join me and consider contributing to what can potentially be one of the greatest feats accomplished by 40 women – playing one continuous hockey game, 24 hours per day, 10 days straight – beating the current Guinness World Record by 65 minutes! Funds raised from this event supports Cystic Fibrosis Canada.

I first became inspired to get involved after watching a documentary titled 65 Red Roses with two close friends. This documentary chronicled the life of an incredibly brave young woman, Eva Markvoort, battling Cystic Fibrosis from the age of diagnosis at one year, to when her life sadly ended at 25. Her courage, tenacity and strength are something we could all learn and grow from. After seeing the film we thought, what could we possibly do to contribute to such a tremendously worthwhile cause? We then learned of the goal that 40 women were setting out to accomplish through the Longest Game 4CF, and immediately were compelled to assist in their aspiration of raising $400,000 for Cystic Fibrosis.

This committed group of women is not looking for any accolades, nor do they want any fanfare, they simply want to give back to society by raising much needed awareness and funds for Cystic Fibrosis. How could we not support them in this endeavor?

I’d like to ask that you please consider making a donation to the Longest Game 4CF. No donation amount is too large, or too small. CF is the most common fatal genetic disease affecting Canadian children and young adults. There is no cure for CF – yet!  With your support, CF could ultimately stand for Cure Found!

1 Game. 10 Days. 40 Women. One Legacy. One Goal – You can make it happen
