Vallerie Skelly

Player Bio:

Around the time of November 2009, I had the idea of planning a Guinness world record attempt for the longest ice hockey game. My inspiration behind the idea… my amazing friend Lucia who passed away at the age of 27 from complications of Cystic Fibrosis. She taught me to appreciate every moment and every breath.

I started talking about the longest game to my friends at hockey, some or most thought the idea sounded crazy. Coaxing them with beer and appetizers we formed a small committee. Over a year later I’ve gotten to know these amazing people on a level that probably normally never would of happened. You guys are truly amazing and I can’t wait to celebrate with you after the record is broken and we’ve raised a ton of money for CF!

My father Bill Skelly will be dropping the puck to start the game on August 26th. The man is responsible for introducing Cystic Fibrosis into the Kinsmen clubs of Canada. Fifty years later Kinsmen has raised over 50 million dollars for the cause. Way to go dad!

Thank you to all the game supporters and volunteers! Even more thanks for your donations!
